Some Android applications require cache files. If you want to install game or software cache using BlueStacks emulator, then you need to follow next steps.
For example, we’ll try to install Castle Clash game. Click on the link and choose to Files tab. Download the application cache (OBB extension) and APK launcher:
Move the cache file to C:\ProgramData\BlueStacks\UserData\SharedFolder:
If you haven’t found this directory, enter This PC → View (for Windows 8) / Organize (for Windows 7) → Options → Change folder and search options → View → Show hidden files, folders, and drivers → uncheck Hide protected operating system files checkbox → Apply → OK:
Launch BlueStacks. Download ES File Explorer or another Android manager to work with files and catalogues in the emulator.
Run ES File Explorer. To enter SharedFolder tap on sdcard → windows → BstSharedFolder
Select your cache file and hold the left button of a mouse:
The operation menu will appear. Tap on Copy button:
Now you have to enter sdcard → Android folder. If you haven’t see obb category, you should create this one (use New button):
Remember that every application requires a separate folder. To install Castle Clash cache create com.igg.castleclash directory:
Click on it and paste our cache file using Paste button:
Now we can install Castle Clash APK launcher. Use right-click mouse button on APK file and select Open with → BlueStacks APK Handler:
After that you can try to launch the game. If you don’t see any warnings, it means that you have successfully installed an app cache.
You should know that a cache folder can vary. It depends on a type of your app. And often you can see sdcard\ Android\obb folder. But some games require another directory path:
